Over the last few years, the Code Geass anime was re-adapted into 3 movies. While the original footage from the TV series was used, in this new cut there were some deviations from the original story and small sequences of new animation. Which takes us to an alternate timeline from the original Code Geass series and sets us up for the newest movie coming early 2019 to Japan.

When Christmas is over and you’re ready to stop listening to Saber sing Jingle Bells on repeat, there will be a Fate special on New Years Eve. It’s highly likely that the Fate/Stay Night Heaven’s Feel Part 2 will air, as the first one was on last year at this time. However Type-Moon has also announced that a new animation will also debut.

The special will be on stream via Nico Nico Live and AbemaTV, Monday 31st December 9:00pm Japanese time. It will also be on TV channels Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS 11.

Neon Genesis Evangelion has been licensed for worldwide streaming via Netflix. The original 26 episodes plus the End of Evangelion and Death/Rebirth films will be available starting from Autumn next year.

This much loved series has been out of print on DVD for quite some time, so this is a great way for old and new fans alike to watch Evangelion!

An entirely new anime adaption of Fruits Basket is in the works for a 2019 release. The anime will cover the whole story from the 1998 – 2006 manga.

The project will have fresh new art styles and entirely different staff from the previous anime that was released in 2001.

Twitch will once again be streaming the Pokemon anime starting from November 22, 2018 and running until January 2nd, 2019.

Psycho Pass movie trilogy Sinners of the System is going to be released in Japanese theaters over the course of 2019, with the first one starting in January.

The three movies in this trilogy are titled:

• PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System Case .1 “Sin and Punishment”
  
• PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System Case .2 “First Guardian”
  
• PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System Case .3 “Beyond Love and Hate…”
  

A winter themed OVA for Re:ZERO titled “Memory Snow” began airing in Japanese cinema’s this month.

Subaru sets out on a secret mission, which turns out to be planning a date with Emilia!

A second OVA titled “Frozen Bonds” was just recently announced also, which will adapt a prequel story. However there is no official news on a 2nd anime season just yet.

To promote the Memory Snow OVA, Re:ZERO is teaming up with Sanrio with special goods available in Japan, which features Hello Kitty dressed as Emilia, Rem & Ram.

Parody isekai series KONOSUBA (God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World) currently has 2 seasons of anime and in 2019 Japanese cinemas will be seeing a movie as well!

When the new year rolls around, Date A Live season 3 is scheduled for Janauary’s winter season of anime in Japan.

It will feature new OP and ED songs by Sweet ARMS and Eri Yamazaki respectively.

A new character Natsumi will be joining the line up and will be voiced by Ayumi Mano.
